What to expect: The dental crown procedure

The crown process typically takes two visits:

Visit 1: Preparation and  temporary crown

• Examination and X-ray to assess the tooth.
• Tooth reshaping and enamel removal.
• Impressions or digital scans taken.
• Temporary crown placed while the permanent one is made.

Visit 2: Crown fitting

• Temporary crown is removed.
• Final adjustments for fit, shade, and bite.
• Permanent crown bonded using dental cement.

In certain cases, same-day crowns may be possible using advanced CAD/CAM technology. Ask us if you’re a candidate.

Inlays and onlays – A conservative alternative

When full crowns aren’t necessary, inlays and onlays provide a minimally invasive option:
