Dr Julia Hurry

Dr Julia Hurry is a Paediatric Dental Registrar and a Barts Charity-funded PhD researcher. She provides compassionate dental care for children, including anxious patients and children with complex dental needs.

Dr Julia Hurry’s research focuses on reducing oral health inequalities in children. She also explores ways to make dental visits more positive and less stressful for young patients and their families. Her aim is to help every child access high-quality dental care and leave with a healthy, happy smile.

Julia graduated from King’s College London in 2019. During her undergraduate studies, she served as Treasurer and Sponsorship Coordinator for the KCL Dental Society. She received the Guy’s Centenary Award for her clinical and research work during her elective.

In 2021, Dr Julia Hurry gained Membership of the Faculty of Dental Surgery at the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow. She has also completed accredited training in conscious sedation through the Intercollegiate Advisory Committee for Sedation in Dentistry.

Julia is a member of the British Society of Paediatric Dentistry and the Faculty of Dental Surgery at the Royal College of Surgeons of England. She has completed postgraduate certificates in Healthcare Research Skills and Methods at St George’s University and Behaviour Change at University College London.

Dr Julia Hurry also works with Colgate Bright Smiles, Bright Future campaign. The campaign supports children’s oral health education and helps more children achieve healthy, happy smiles.
