With All-on-Four, several titanium screws are placed into the jawbone at one time. These act as the base for a permanent prosthesis that can replace an entire row of missing teeth and is screwed or cemented into place. For some patients, this treatment can be completed in just one visit to DNTL Smiles & Wellness.
Patients who have undergone this treatment have reported a significant improvement in their quality of life, confidence, smile, and self-esteem, as they no longer have to worry about their dentures being stable.
We recommend a soft diet initially (5-7 days) as you will have a new set of teeth fixed, and it will take time for your mouth to settle and find a comfortable position for eating.
When you visit DNTL Smiles & Wellness, you will undergo an initial consultation to discuss your smile concerns and queries with Dr Shah. He will review options for dentures, bridges, and implants, as well as the advantages and disadvantages of each. If the tooth is infected, it will need to be removed. If this is the case, we will allow 6-8 weeks for your body to remove the infection and do its first stage of healing.
You will then undergo a 3D CT scan to measure the location and extent of the bone in your mouth. This will then determine whether you are suitable for dental implant treatment and whether you will need bone grafting or sinus lifting.
After that, you will receive your personal treatment plan. This is when your treatment date will be set! If sedation is requested, surgery will usually take place between 8 and 12 weeks.
2-3 days before treatment, the sedationist will contact you to discuss any questions or concerns you may have, and they will review the day’s itinerary with you.
This is when your treatment will be done! You will be greeted by our friendly receptionists and escorted to surgery. Sedation will then be administered, and Dr Adeel Ali will complete your treatment. You will then walk away with your new smile!
Two weeks after the surgery, you will then have a review with Dr Shah to make sure everything is healing correctly, and you will have your stitches removed.
After 4-6 months, a secondary procedure may be necessary. We will then begin constructing your crown. 2 weeks after your digital scan appointment, we will fit your crown.
Once your implants have been fitted, it is essential to maintain a good oral hygiene routine to ensure they last for as long as possible.
Your dentist at DNTL Smiles & Wellness will advise you on the best way to care for your new implants. This will include brushing and flossing using interdental brushes or Superfloss (recommended) twice daily around the implant. Periodic cleaning with Curasept is advised.
You will have an implant review visit one year after the initial procedure. You will also visit us every 4-6 months for check-ups and hygiene visits, depending on your risk factors. Many of our patients choose to join our Denplan membership plan for ongoing maintenance.
